Day 4

Guess what? I'm writing the blog again, so you know you're in for a treat. It all began at around 7:00 this morning, with the usual breakfast across the road. Fed and watered, we hit the road for a two & a half hour drive ("The trip was long and tiresome, but worth it in the end, hi mum- Olly Smith),  to Port Aventura, a theme park with rides high enough to make us all sick (they nearly did). There were water slides, rollercoasters, skydroppers, and a bunch of other stuff that people "were too tired to go on". The water rides got us soaking, but the sun was hot enough to dry us off. The  We spent the entire day there, and ate lunch at the various cafés and food shops. Being the kind teacher she is, Madame C gave us money to buy ice creams as well (she checks  this, so I'm being extra kind). It was really fun, and we've all had such a great time on this trip: the weather, the streets, the food, culture and more has all been so different to what we're used to and has been really wonderful to experience. This had better be the last blog entry or that last sentence would feel very out of place.

See you all tomorrow,

Day 3

Welcome to the best entry of  the blog, expertly written by the wonderful Year 8's. It began with Park Güell (that means "park" in Spanish), a georgeous collection of Antoni Gaudi's best work. Similar to the Sagrada Familia, the monument park was full of sculptures, columns and brickwork, where some of us bought snacks at the local shop. Then it was lunch La Poma, where we ordered Tapas, Pastas, Pizzas; all by ourselves and paid by ourselves (be proud...be very proud). We spent the afternoon walking through the crowded streets of Barcelona, walking past the century-old buildings and stopping by at a small market; it was full of antiques books, pins, and various other items. Later that day we visited La Boqueria, an enormous food market thick with fish, fruits, vegetables (and the occasional ice cream). That evening we ate at La Moka, and ate spaghetti, sausages and banana cheesecake. As we reach the halfway point in the holiday, we reflect on the great memories we've made, and look forward to those we are still going to make. That got really deep. I'm impressed. Signing out from Barcelona.

Day 2

Dear Mums, Dads and everyone in between,
We had an early start today - 7:00 - as the day ahead was packed. After a quick breakfast we all piled onto the coach and headed into Barcelona; all the while listening to some 'lovley' singing.
Eventually we arrived in Barca itself and no-one could wait to get going. We all clambered onto the cable cars to get a Birdseye view. Glittering oceans, amazing architecture and industrial waste land filled the view. At the top was an ancient castle, surrounded by perfectly maintained gardens. We spent half an hour exploring the stone sentry before getting a lift back down in the cable cars. Then, we travelled deeper into Barcelona to visit La Segrada De Familia, Gaudi's masterpiece. Spires stroked the clouds, windows lit up and we were all taken back by the sheer size of it all. But soon we were hungry so we ate the most traditional Spanish food - McDonalds. For the remainder of the day we got wet in the water park, vertical drops were everywhere to be seen and terrified screams filled the air. Heaven. For hours we swam and splashed, dived and rode, laughed and laughed some more, but all good things must come to an end.

Traveling

After an extremley early start, we arrived at Heathrow with plenty of time to spare. Everyone bought their breakfast and most of us bought loads of chocolate and sweets that kept us going till we landed in Barcelona.

By the way, congratulations to Amy and Harry for your first ever flights!

After arriving in Barcelona, most of us took the time on the coach to sleep and chat, especially as there was a huge traffic jam!

The hotel got us in easily to our nice rooms. Within minutes of being in the hotel most of us dived in the cold pool to cool down . Tonight we are going into town to explore and have fun.

Looking forward to our first day in Barcelona tomorrow!
